About CheckDrugInteractions.com

CheckDrugInteractions.com is a free drug interaction checker that helps patients and caregivers identify potential interactions between prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and supplements. Our data is sourced entirely from U.S. FDA drug labeling — the same information your pharmacist uses to check for drug interactions.

Why We Built This

Drug interactions are a leading cause of adverse drug events in the United States. The FDA estimates that drug interactions account for approximately 3–5% of all in-hospital medication errors — most of which are preventable if patients have easy access to interaction information before combining medications.

Existing drug interaction checkers are often buried behind paywalls, cluttered with ads, or require account creation. We built CheckDrugInteractions.com to be free, fast, and based on the same authoritative FDA data used by healthcare professionals. Check up to 20 drugs at once — including camera scanning of pill bottle labels.

Our Data

Every interaction on this site is extracted from FDA-approved drug labeling data available through OpenFDA and DailyMed. We do not invent or infer interactions — every pair listed on this site is explicitly documented in FDA drug labeling.

Our database currently indexes over 257,000 FDA drug labels and covers 22,000+ unique drug-pair interactions with severity classifications. For details on how we process this data, see our Methodology page.
