Not Medical Advice

The drug interaction information provided on checkdruginteractions.com is intended for general informational purposes only. Nothing on this Site constitutes medical advice, and no information on this Site should be used to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

Always Consult a Professional

Drug interactions are complex and depend on many individual factors including your age, weight, kidney and liver function, other medications, and medical history. Only a licensed healthcare provider who knows your complete medical situation can give you appropriate advice about your medications.

If you have concerns about a drug interaction, contact your:

  • Pharmacist (often the fastest and most accessible resource)
  • Primary care physician
  • Specialist physician
  • Nurse practitioner or physician assistant

Database Limitations

Our drug interaction data is sourced from U.S. FDA drug labeling via openFDA and the U.S. National Library of Medicine. This database has important limitations:

  • "No interaction found" is not the same as "no interaction exists." Our database does not contain every known drug interaction.
  • New interactions are discovered regularly and may not yet be in our database.
  • Severity classifications are automatically derived and may not reflect the full clinical picture.
  • Interactions between more than two drugs simultaneously are not fully captured.
  • Supplement, herbal, and food interactions are not included.

Emergency Situations

If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency or an adverse drug reaction, call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency room. Do not rely on this website in an emergency.

Data Sources

Drug interaction data is sourced from:

  • U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) drug labeling via openFDA
  • U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), National Institutes of Health, via RxNorm

These are U.S. government public domain datasets. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FDA or NIH.
