23 interactions on record

Colestipol + ChenodiolContraindicated

Bile acid sequestering agent that decreases absorption of CHENODIOL in the intestine, resulting in decreased efficacy. Concomitant use should be avoided.

Colestipol resin may bind thiazide diuretics and reduce diuretic absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.

Source: NLP:chlorothiazide

Decreases digoxin concentrations. Requires monitoring and dose adjustment.

Colestipol impairs gastrointestinal folate uptake through binding of dietary folate.

Bile acid sequestrant known to decrease levothyroxine absorption, potentially resulting in hypothyroidism.

Source: NLP:levothyroxine sodium

Bile acid sequestrant that may decrease T3 absorption by binding and delaying or preventing absorption, potentially resulting in hypothyroidism. Administer liothyronine sodium at least 4 hours prior.

Source: NLP:liothyronine sodium

Bile acid binding resins may bind odevixibat in the gut, reducing BYLVAY efficacy. Administer at least 4 hours before or after odevixibat.

Co-administered colestipol significantly reduces propranolol plasma concentrations, resulting in loss of efficacy.

Source: NLP:propranolol hydrochloride

Binds levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3) in the intestine, impairing absorption of thyroid hormones. Separate administration by 4-5 hours.
